Affiliate Marketing: How to Choose Your Product by Calvin Woon

If you've tried affiliate marketing before, you understand that you're not using your own product. It's all about taking advantage of someone else's, but there are many times when it's difficult to figure out which one to choose. This usually means you're being torn in twenty different directions, and basically there are too many choices available.

So in order to narrow your choices down a bit, you have to figure out a few things first. We're going to help you with that today. Hopefully by the time you're finished you will already have something in mind. Once you're able to choose the product (or products), then it's all downhill from there.

The first thing we recommend if writing down everything you enjoy. There is no sense in trying to promote something you have no interest in at all. Seriously, how much is it going to be to work from home if you hate talking about gardening or aspirin. The best way to do it is go with your hobbies and work backwards.

Once you have finally figured out what type of category you would like to promote, then it's time to narrow it down just a tad bit more. So for example purposes, if you enjoy baseball, maybe you want to promote a company that specializes in baseball bats. You've just eliminated every sub-category that revolves around baseball and isolated it to baseball bats.

Now, the important part of choosing a specific product, is by pushing it into smaller sub-categories. You have to remember that there are tons of competitors out there, so you have to figure out how to be unique. So in this case, you may want to promote "youth baseball bats," which will eliminate wooden bats, adult-sized bats, and various others.

You probably get the idea, but once you reach your specific niche, then it's time to look for a company that will give you a healthy commission. Remember, everytime someone buys from your ID you're going to get paid. The better the commission, the more money you can make. Just make sure you're dealing with a company that is reputable and keeps to their word.

Also try to find out the pay structure as well. Will it be daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly? Is there an amount you have to accrue? All important questions to figure out the answers to when working with affiliate marketing. It's usually monthly, but on occasion you can find weekly or bi-weekly on places like Clickbank.

This is the easiest and most efficient way we can teach you how to choose your product or company to work with online. In the end it all comes down to having fun and making money at the same time. If you can't do both, then you might as well look for another product.
